Baret was known as a man until one day when a native Tahitian named Aotouro. He saw Baret and pointed out to the crew that she was a girl. She then ran to her cabin and cared a gun with her for the rest of the journey. The boat could not find any port to land, so they were stuck at sea for 3 months with no fresh water and stuck with eating rats. After discovering new plants, insects and other cool stuff she found a love partner. Baret had no money or shelter when she arrived home from her long journey. So she worked at a bar and found a sailer from France and they got married.

She came on the ship with the intention to study plants. She discovered many plants. On the island of Tahiti tribesmen discovered who she really was. When she came home despite the fact that she had broken the law her family and the French government had honored her work.

They could not marry so they gave the child away and moved to Paris, goal was to find land mass. women were not allowed on french naval ships so Baret disquised her identity. after journeying through France they decided to go to Tahiti where her gender was not so secret. A long period of time past and she had go remarried and returned to French Soil and became the first woman to circumnavigate the globe.

When the man's wife died, he and Jeane moved in together and had their own child. After giving both of the children away, they went on a boat for Commerson's work. She had to hide her identity of being a girl so she could go on the boat. This adventure led her to be the first woman to go around the world

They escaped together on a naval ship by dressing Jeanne up as a man and changing her name to Jean. The sailed to many places but when they got to Tahiti one of the natives reveled that she was a girl. From then on Jeanne had to be fearful of the crew trying to find out for themselves if the native was correct. the ended up stealing her gun and raping her and after that no longer had to hide her gender. Throughout the journey she had collected a lot of scientific research and all the new information became her legacy after her death.
